Audrey’s Message

I am often asked, do you write with a message in mind? Do you try to teach children about any particular subject or issue? The answer to that question is absolutely not.

As an author of children’s literature, I have one burning mission I carry in my heart and that is to engage and entertain children to such a high degree that they will naturally fall in love with the activity of reading.

Once a child understands the benefits and delights of reading, the door to knowledge and wisdom is opened for a lifetime. Parents and teachers stand ready with important, worthy issues to impart to the budding minds.

My message to children? Enjoy Reading!

Hi audrey at school we were doing a book report and the author i grew up with was already taken. But my teacher read to me one of your books called The Red Ripe Strawberry, and THE BIG HUNGRY BEAR and i instantly took a liking to it. And wanted to read more of your books. Are you involved with any other styles of writing?

    Hi Audrey,

I enjoy reading your books and am truly inspired by your style of writing. One of my favorite is The Napping House. That book was first read to me in grade school. It has since been 20 years and it is still a favorite of mine that I like to share with my own children. I am looking forward to getting my own copy of your newest book Piggy Pie-Po. From the preview of it, I already know that this will also be added to my favorites.

    Hi Audrey!
I love your books, two of my favorites are The Little Mouse…and The Napping House. I am a writer of Childrens books. I have not been published yet.In fact I got my first rejection. Which people tell me is the first step, and something to be proud of.Most publishers are not accepting new Authors,do you suggest getting an agent?

Agents can be very helpful. Business for publishers, like everyone else, is very difficult right now. Most are only able to stick with proven authors. Hopefully this will change soon.
Keep writing and perfecting your skills and you will be ready when they are. The more books you write the better you will become at writing. Good luck!
